Towards the end of 2017, the Metrics Champion Consortium (MCC) conducted a survey to get feedback on the utilization of the MCC ECG Performance Metric v2.1. Specifically, the MCC wanted to see if the current metric set was keeping pace with changes in technology and industry practices.
Updated in 2015, v2.1 includes the original 10 metric definition components from version 1 along with four new features.
Survey feedback showed there are no specific recommendations to modify the current metric set at this time. Cardiac Safety providers and Sponsors are currently implementing the majority of the ECG Performance metrics with some individual metrics defined as “planning to be used” within the next six months. Additionally, a majority of respondents identified cardiac safety data as being critical for risk-based monitoring evaluation across all phases of clinical trials.
Based on the results of the survey, the MCC Cardiac Safety Work Group does not plan to reconvene monthly meetings. However, implementation tools and guides are in development across other MCC work groups, such as the Vendor Oversight Work Group, and will be considered for the ECG Metrics v2.1 in the future.
MCC members are invited to join the MCC Cardiopulmonary Performance LinkedIn Group to engage with the MCC community and stay up-to-date on the latest news about MCC metric sets and tools.
