WCG Metrics Champion Consortium Expands Its Learning Institute with New eLearning Courses
Addition of Clinical Pathway’s On-Demand, Performance Management and Good Clinical Practice Training Courses Enriches Resources Available to MCC Members
Falls Church, VA – November 9, 2020 – Metrics Champion Consortium (MCC), an industry organization dedicated to improving clinical trials via the development of standardized performance metrics, today announced the expansion of the MCC Learning Institute. MCC will now offer 12 new eLearning courses on performance management and good clinical practice (GCP) developed by Clinical Pathways, LLC to provide stakeholders across the clinical research community with high-quality, effective training resources.
Founded in 2006 and part of WCG’s Study Planning and Site Optimization Division, MCC is a pan-industry organization that operates as an industry “think tank.” It provides a forum for sponsors of clinical trials – from large biopharmaceutical, small biotechnology start-ups and medical device companies – as well as clinical research organizations (CROs), research sites and technology service providers to address shared challenges and opportunities. Via community of practice virtual groups and a resource library that includes toolkits and eLearning courses, MCC arms clinical trial stakeholders with insights to measure the right things and turn knowledge into action. The addition of Clinical Pathways’ on-demand training courses are part of these efforts to help optimize quality, performance management and GCP across clinical trial operations.
“When it comes to improving clinical trial performance through training and giving study teams the resources to do their jobs better, Clinical Pathways is a key thought leader for our industry,” said Linda Sullivan, MBA, executive director of MCC. “We’re excited to add more eLearning resources to the MCC Learning Institute to support GCP training and further develop the critical thinking skills needed to get to the root cause of issues and risks, and, in turn, drive meaningful performance and quality improvements across trial operations.”
Sandra “SAM” Sather, vice president of Clinical Pathways, added: “The efforts to comply with global requirements to modernize our clinical trials and, in doing so better manage risks and issues, often lack the essential training-up of team members’ competencies and critical thinking. New processes cannot be effectively implemented without first bringing team members up to speed and providing them with necessary learning tools. Developing a risk-based mindset and the skillset to focus one’s attention on issues that matter most, both individually and as a team, take practice – and it’s that training that ultimately improves the performance of those working on complex trials.
Clinical Pathways is thrilled to be working with MCC. We look forward to jointly delivering content that promotes the application of performance-based thinking, which is based on real-life scenarios and provides effective quality training for a variety of audiences within the global clinical research industry, including sponsors, CROs, research sites, IRBs and more.”
